2008 OPEN HOUSE

親愛的家長：                                                                                       

                      您好：

                      熱熱鬧鬧的OPEN HOUSE 已經過去一個星期了，雖然當天的氣溫高達一百度，但是我看到眾多的家長陪著孩子來到學校給『僑心』加油，更有些家長攙扶著年長的爺爺奶奶來給孫子的學校支持，看在我的眼裡，心中十分的感激與感動，我不會忘記你們熱情的支持，永遠不會。當然，當天也來了許多小朋友邀請的新朋友，他們一再的詳問學校的狀況，更有許多的家長現場就報了名。當中有一位魏(Wei)姓家長，他們住在Glendale，但是孩子在Temple City上學，想先報名暑期班，問他們怎麼知道我們學校的，原來他們上網，看到了我們的資訊，覺得值得參觀，誰知當天他們和孩子就被我們的愛吸引進來了。

                       OPEN HOUSE 的當天，我們也播放了震驚全世界的四川大地震幻燈片，並在現場進行了震災募款，5/17/08結束後，在家長，學生以及 PTA家長委員會的監視下，打開了震災箱，我們一共募集到了$1362.96。另外，PTA 也再決定將當天所有的收入全部捐作賑災之用，這是一項有意義的行動。看了四川災難的報導，有誰不掉淚？看了成千上萬災民的圖片，哪個不同情？因為我們都是有血有淚的中國人！所以 即使賑災捐款當天已結清，但是上週依然有家長及老師連接不斷的將支票和學生的捐款送進了辦公室。

                     截至今天為止，我們收到的捐款已達$6094.00，我再一次的發出呼籲，四川的震災將在僑心繼續的募款下去，因為有許多的家長說，只要確定是將款項用在災民的身上，他們的捐款還會繼續的送來，我們也將在辦公室設立另一個捐款箱，請您發出愛心，繼續援助四川的災民，讓他們能早一天重整家園。

我們將所收到的全部捐款送交『南加州中文學校聯合會』（SCCCS），請他們轉交紅十字會處理。謝謝您的愛心！

Dear Parents,

            A week has passed since our annual Open House and I was very touched to see so many parents accompanying their children to come to our school!  Even though the temperature that day rose into the hundreds, many grandparents also came to

with their grandchildren.  I am very grateful for everyone’s support and I will never forget the kindness you’ve all shown.  Many new friends joined us at open house that day.  One particular family, the Wei family, who resides in Glendale with children attending school in Temple City , attended our Open House.  When I asked them how they had discovered our school, they told me they had found our website and were inspired to come take a look.  They were touched by everyone’s kindness here and registered for summer school that day.   

            One of our objectives for Open House was to set up a collection to help the people in

.  For who does not cry to hear such heartbreaking news? Who does not feel compassion when they see pictures of countless people in pain?  Even though the collection ended after Open House, I found that parents, teachers, and students continue to donate throughout the week.

            To this day, we have collected $6094.00.  The people in Sichuan still need our help.  Chiao-Hsin Chinese Language School will continue to collect donations.  Many parents have said, as long as it is for certain that the money will go to assist the people, they will continue to donate.  A Donation Box will be set up in the office.  Please continue to share your compassion so that the people in
